An Integrative Model
Details
This research has tried to address the argument about the low levels of successful AMT adoption in SMEs of Iran. The objective of this study is to assess the critical factors which influence adoption of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMTs) and identify hurdles and barriers which prevent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from accomplishing the desired goals of AMTs utilization in the setting of Iran. The study proposed modified version of the TOE framework. It has synthesized previous studies and integrated related studies through conducting a comprehensive literature review. A survey conducted in main three industrial regions of Iran. Ten independent variables, organizational structure, organizational culture, manufacturing strategies, human resource practices, top management support/commitment, external pressure, supplier support, financial resources, perceived benefits, and technology-in-use, were selected to develop relevant hypotheses. The findings reveal that six out of ten independent variables have significant influence on AMT acceptance.
