Assurance of Salvation: A Cumulative Case Argument

Before John Calvin taught the doctrine of double predestination and sola gratia, possibly the anxiety for assurance of salvation may not have been a great concern to the Christians as it became apparent after the articulation of the doctrine. Calvin taught that from eternity God decreed to create some human beings for salvation and another lot for damnation. This teaching has since elicited anxiety especially when one's good works could not be used to infer their state of salvation. In this book, John Kiboi presents objective and subjective approaches to assurance of salvation and proposes that it is possible for one to ascertain their state of salvation through a cumulative case.

The Rev. Dr. John Michael Kiboi is a senior lecturer at St. Paul s University, Limuru, Kenya in the faculty of Theology. His research interests are in Systematic Theology, African Christian Studies and Philosophy. He has authored other books, like "The Tripartite Office of Christ" and several articles in the said fields.
