Culture, Cognition, Discourse and Grammar

This book is a collection of papers pertaining to some of the current problems of language description couched in terms of recent advances of the theory of Cognitive Linguistics. The book examines the interrelation between culture, discourse, grammar and cognition, with a particular focus placed on the nature and role of formulaic language.

Böena Duda is assistant professor at the Institute of English Studies, University of Rzeszów (Poland). Her main research interests include (historical) sociolinguistics and cognitive semantics. Robert Kie tyka is associate professor at the Institute of English Studies, University of Rzeszów (Poland). His main research interests include diachronic semantics, cognitive linguistics and morphology-semantics interface. Ewa Konieczna is assistant professor at the Institute of English Studies, University of Rzeszów (Poland). Her main research interests include morphological polysemy, embodied cognition in language and innovative word formation processes.
