Disease Management Practices in Black Tiger Shrimp Penaeus Monodon
Details
Among the aquatic species, crustaceans serve as major hosts for viral and bacterial pathogen like WSSV, MBV and Vibrio; they exhibit a significant threat to Seafood industry and marine biodiversity. The crustaceans act as reservoirs for the viruses and bacteria in marine and brackish water environments. The present study aims at detecting the percentage of infected crustaceans in the wild environment, the source of the virus being the cultured ponds surround the water bodies. The use of plant extracts for aquatic animals is increasing with the demand for Eco-friendly and sustainable aquaculture. In final this work gets herbal medication for bacterial infection in shrimp. This information would help shrimp farmers to take appropriate measures to save their culture and escape from the severe economical losses.
