Details

The field experiment entitled "Effect of plant growth retardants and pinching on growth, flowering and yield of gaillardia (Gaillardia pulchella var. lorenziana) Cv. Local Double" was carried out at Fruit Reserch Station, Sakkarbaugh Farm, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh during Summer 2011. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design with 15 treatments and replicated thrice. The treatments comprised of three different types of growth retardants each having two concentrations viz., CCC 500 ppm, CCC 1000 ppm, MH 200 ppm, MH 400 ppm, Paclobutrazol 25 ppm and Paclobutrazol 50 ppm sprayed at 45 and 60 days after transplanting, two pinching done at 45 and 60 DAT and control (water spray). it can be concluded that treatment CCC 1000 ppm recorded highest yield per hectare, net realization and C.B.R. value and found to be most profitable in gaillardia (Gaillardia pulchella var. lorenziana) Cv. Local Double.
