Emotionality and art perception
Details
Based on a list of emotions compiled from online surveys and divided into eight homogeneous emotion groups, this study aims to validate this classification using museum studies. The evaluation of a questionnaire survey conducted with visitors to the Albertina and Belvedere museums in Vienna aims to verify the correctness of the group classification and to analyse which emotions are most frequently perceived and which emotions should be excluded from the questionnaire due to their low occurrence. It is clear that museum visitors predominantly experience positive emotions, while negative emotions occur much less frequently. However, the structure with eight emotion groups cannot be found in the museum data; instead, there is a division into only two groups, namely positive and negative emotions.
