"From Overseas to Overalls: Acculturation Experiences of Slavic Young Adult Refugees in the American Heartland" uncovers the Slavic Evangelical Christian Diaspora in the immigrant communities in the Midwestern United States. It is an interdisciplinary study in the fields of education, language, culture, religion, anthropology, and sociology, which explores and describes the acculturation experiences of Slavic young adults who immigrated to the United States as children with their immediate families from the former Soviet republics of Byelorussia, Russia, and Ukraine and now reside in the Midwest. It discusses the themes of ethnic and cultural identity, learning English and obtaining an education, being a Christian, and becoming an American as well as provides insights into multigenerational immigrant households and communities.
