and hotly debated topics in evolutionary studies,
Whole Genome Duplications and Random Breakage Model
of chromosome evolution, that give raise to the
challenging combinatorial problems of Genome Halving
and Breakpoint Re-Use analysis. These problems are

Autorentext
Max Alekseyev received Ph.D. in computer science in 2007 from the
University of California, San Diego. He currently holds an
assistant professor position at the University of South Carolina.
His research interests include computational molecular biology,
discrete algorithms, and combinatorics.
