HOLY WEEK: Some Reflections on the Liturgical Readings

Mary Magdalene stands out in staying by the cross, and in being the first to learn that the crucified Jesus has truly risen, and to announce the Good News as "apostola apostolorum". She serves us as an example to imitate, namely to believe in the resurrection against good reasoning; to hope for the eternal life; and to love God and one another not only in words but also in deeds. The role of Mary Magdalene clearly shows women's contribution and perspective. I highly recommend this book as an excellent spiritual guide leading through the Holy Week.
