In this figure, the 1961-1990 global average temperature is used as the baseline value.The annual global temperature determined is subtracted from this base value and the result obtained is plotted on the graph corresponding to the year on X axis. Currently, the longest-running temperature record is the Central England temperature data series, that starts in 1659. The longest-running quasi-global record starts in 1850.
