Atheromatous stenosis of the internal carotid artery represents a real public health problem with a non-negligible rate of postoperative morbidity and mortality. During this type of surgery, the instrumentalist plays an important role in the pre- and postoperative management of the patient, and his or her knowledge guarantees that the procedure will be carried out under optimal conditions. If the results of this carotid surgery are well known, the knowledge of the operating room staff is still discussed. For this reason, we proposed to carry out this retrospective study with the aim of evaluating the knowledge and the role of the operating room staff in terms of carotid surgery. We distributed a 20-question questionnaire to 28 cardiovascular surgery operating room staff. At the end of this survey, we gave a score to each staff member and then carried out a statistical study to identify the factors that could influence the knowledge of the OR staff. The average score obtained was 10.14. Our study showed that the professional seniority.
