Objective measurements of linear udder and body conformation traits were taken on Bunaji and (F1) Friesian x Bunaji cows at National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), Shika, Zaria-Nigeria. The measurements provide unique insight into the udder and body conformation of Bunaji cows and their crosses (Friesian x Bunaji) and allow for the estimation of their variance components. The Repeatability of the objective measurements of the linear udder and body conformation traits was estimated and the genetic relationships that exist amongst them were determined.In addition, a comparative analysis of linear udder and body conformation traits between Bunaji and Friesian x Bunaji cows was carried out. Finally, factors that influenced linear udder and body conformation traits in cattle were identified and evaluated.
