Machine Learning in Orthopedics

Orthopedics is one of the important studies in the field of medicine. This study aids in analyzing the bone related issues of human body. Though recent advancement in technology has solved many complications in analysis of these bone joints, certain analysis still remains a challenge in this field of Orthopedics. One such analysis is diagnosis of arthritis disorders from X-ray images. These analyses still rely upon human analysis. Therefore introduction of human machine interaction in these analyses will aid in much accurate and error free diagnosis. This book discusses the attempts made with few machine learning algorithms in the analysis of digital X-ray images.

Dr.M.Subramoniam has graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He completed his masters in Electronics & Control Engineering from Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology. He has completed Ph.D in 2014. His areas of interests are Medical image processing and soft computing. He has over 25 publications in reputed Journals/conferences.
