Management of fistula -in-ano by Ksharsutra therapy

Bhagandar resembles with the description of Fistula-in-ano as described in modern medical science. Fistula-in-ano implies a chronic granulating track connecting two epithelial lined surface i.e. anal canal and over skin surface.Though this disease is not life threatening but, it produces inconveniences in routine life.It causes discomfort and pain that creates problem in day to day activities. In spite of many modifications in surgical procedures, Fistula-in-ano still remains challenge even for a meticulous and skillful surgeon.The introduction of Ksharsutra into the fistulous tract was capable of dissolving the fibrous tissue and ultimately draining it out creating a healthy base for healing.In spite of all Kshara having same properties but the source plant also having its own characteristics to work upon particular doshas due to having different Ras, Guna, Virya, and Vipak. So the study was planned to evaluate efficacy as well as acceptability of all Ksharsutra and minimizes the discomfort and time period of treatment as well as recurrence of Fistula-in-ano.This book cantain data related to the management of different type of Bhagandar by different ksharsutra

Author born in a middle class farmer family of Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh, India in July 1983. Author has completed his BAMS from SAC, Lucknow and for M.S. and PhD in Shalya Tantra he move to National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. currently working as Assistant Professor in department of shalya tantra at NEIAH, Shillong, Meghalya.
