OVERCOMING INTERLANGUAGE FOSSILIZATION

This book addresses second language acquisition and provides an overview of: (a) interlanguage, (b) fossilization, (c) the theoretical accounts addressing interlanguage fossilization, and (d) achievement motivation. Detailed descriptions of linguistic concepts and models are clearly and vividly presented, and the text assists in identifying factors and dynamics that can enhance English-as-a-Second Language professors' skills and success in the classroom. Motivation, feedback, and language acquisition are accordingly linked, and it is proffered that achievement motivation and corrective feedback play an important role in (a) diminishing or overcoming interlanguage fossilization and (b) achieving target language competency. Dr. Zoran Vujisic is a certified Marriage and Family Therapist. After completing his B.A., he earned a Licentiate of Orthodox Theology, a M.A. Ed., a D. Min. (MFT), a Ph.D. (Applied Linguistics), and a Th.D. (Practical Theology). He has served for 27 years as a pastor and has worked as a professor, counselor, and therapist.
