Picking up the Pieces in the Land of Multiple Boundaries

In this book, Eugene Rukaranghira examines the causes and consequences of the 1994 Rwandan genocide against the Tutsi and challenges convetional wisdom atributing the genocide to ethnic hatred by highlighting the role of government in the planning and execution of this terrible tragedy. He argues that the concept of human development rather than economic development provides a superior insight into the possible causes and long term consequences of this failure of humanity to intervene in Rwanda.

Eugene Rukaranghira wurde im Südwesten Ugandas als Sohn ruandischer Eltern geboren. In seinen frühen Jahren zog er nach Kanada, um seine Universitätsausbildung fortzusetzen, und beschloss, sich dort niederzulassen. Er erwarb einen Master-Abschluss in Politikwissenschaften an der Carleton University und ist Policy Analyst bei Transport Canada. Er lebt mit seiner Familie in Ottawa, Kanada.
