Role of Uterine Artery Doppler in Management of Early Missed Abortion

The pharmacological management of early pregnancy loss reduced substantially the need for dilation and curettage. However, prognostic markers of successful outcome were not established. The current study was planned to study the efficacy of uterine artery and subendometrial vasculature Doppler studies to predict whether or not we need D&C if conservative management failed in patients with missed first trimester abortion. This prospective observational study was conducted on 250 women with early pregnancy loss in the first trimester attended to the emergency department of the hospital from March 2018 to March 2020. These patients were enrolled in order to evaluate the efficacy of uterine artery and subendometrial vasculature Doppler studies to predict whether or not we need D&C if conservative management failed in patients with missed first trimester abortion.
