Zusammenfassung
"An index of references rounds off this interesting volume (279-285). The nine case studies indicate the usefulness of this institution-analytical approach to understanding Roman society and the processes of change that it faced during the early principate. As indicated by the examples above, it would be promising to apply this quest and methodology both to the various early Jewish institutions and to emergent early Christianity. In methodology and content, the essays of this volume are demanding reading for NT students, but they also raise fresh questions and offer new perspectives."
