Shocks to Food Security among Rural Households in Ekiti State

Food security is crucial to human well-being and survival. However recent developments around the world indicates that access to food of good quality and quantity is becoming a serious problem in many parts of the world particularly; the horn of Africa, sub Saharan Africa and in Nigeria to be precise. uptill few year ago the problem of food security in Nigeria was deemed impossible and treated with levity. but global fall in oil prices and other shocks have expose the bare side of the Nigerian economy. what seemed to be fables is fast transforming into reality. thousand of people have been stripped of their jobs and vital source of income; as a result of shortage of revenue accrued to the federal government from oil. Hence people are left alone to grapple with the problem of food security.
