High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Snooker plus is a largely-obsolete variation on the cue sport of snooker. The variant was created by Joe Davis, the reigning World Snooker Champion of his era, and introduced to the public on 26 October 1959 during a major snooker tournament.Davis intended to reinvigorate the then-declining popularity of snooker by adding an orange ball (8 points) and a purple ball to the set. The idea was that this would increase the maximum break from 147 to 210, and so help to attract a greater audience. The variation failed to catch on, and the extra colour balls necessary to play the game are not available from any major supplier.
