The Everyday Sacred. Symbols, Rituals, Mythologies comprises studies which tackle classical and contemporary socio-anthropological issues. Ecumenism, tolerance, Orthodoxy, capitalism, sacred and profane rituals, body and alterity are just a few of the topics covered by this volume. The socio-anthropological perspective on the phenomena studied is completed by epistemic and methodological interpretations which deal with the complexity of the issues. The book is an invitation to any of us to look into some manifestations of the sacred which survive in the everyday, challenging us either with their blaring presence or with the subtle charm of their resilient existence.
