This book aims to convey a basic knowledge and interesting facts about wind energy for young children starting from 4, and also first-time readers. The basic aspects of the technology of wind power are introduced through easy to understand concepts from the child's point of view. The subject is expanded through comparisons between modern wind turbines and everyday things. Thomas Simons was born in 1980 and is a Natural scientist. He works in research funding for wind energy and is an engaged father of two curious girls.

Thomas Simons wurde 1980 in der Nähe von Aachen geboren. Nach der Schule studierte er Chemie an der RWTH Aachen und wurde dort anschließend zum Dr. rer.nat. promoviert. Während der Promotion beschäftigte er sich mit elektrochemischer Sensorik für die Dieselabgaskatalyse. Seit 2015 ist er in der Forschungsförderung für Windenergie tätig. Im Rahmen der Energieforschungsprogramme der Bundesregierung beschäftigt er sich mit fast allen Aspekten der Forschung und Entwicklung von Windenergieanlagen und Energieforschung im Allgemeinen. Als Vater von zwei neugierigen Mädchen liegt es ihm sehr am Herzen naturwissenschaftliche und technische Zusammenhänge auch für Kinder begreifbar und verständlich zu machen. Er lebt mit seiner Familie in einer Kleinstadt im westlichen NRW.
