Details

Most energy resources, such as petroleum, coal, and natural gas, are non-renewable sources that are limited because supplies are running out.As an alternative to petroleum-based transportation fuels, bio-fuels can help to reinforce energy security and reduce the emissions of both greenhouse gases (GHGs) and urban air pollutants. Among Biofuels Biodiesel is the best possible alternative to Petrodiesel. Biodiesel is monoalkyl esters of long chain fatty acids made from biolipids such as plant oils and animal fats. Biodiesel can be used in pure form (B100) or may be blended with petroleum diesel. In the Present investigation Biodiesel is being produced from waste Frying Soyabeen oil with the help of Transesterification process with Methanol and KOH as catalyst .Different blends of this biodiesel with petro diesel was being prepared (10%,15%,20%) and feasibility of these blends are being checked by performing different quality assessment test of ASTM like flash point,ASTM distillation ,Viscosity by Canon Fensky method, density , API gravity, copper strip corrosion, conradson carbon residual test, refractive index, etc.
