A feasibility study for the implementation of sustainable procurement
Details
The research assessed the feasibility of implementing sustainable procurement on vehicle registration plates in Zimbabwe following a series of vehicle registration plates shortages from late 2018 to early 2020.The shortage has been attributed foreign currency scarcity to enable importation of the registration plates and poor procurement management and forecasting. The vehicle registration shortages reduced government revenue, increased corruption leading to a public outcry and vehicle crimes became difficult to trace due to absence of registration of motor vehicles. Data collection revealed that it is not feasible to implement sustainable procurement on vehicle registration plates in Zimbabwe mostly because of deficiency in support for sustainable procurement of from direct stakeholders including the government and organisational management (service provider ) to enable resource pooling into sustainable procurement initiatives.
