The book examines the key social related challenges associated with infrastructure deficit and how they could negatively impact on sustainability in Developing Countries. The writers focus on the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 9 which is about industry, innovation, and infrastructure. The Goal 9 is one of the 17 sustainable development goals adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015 aimed at helping the institution to focus on economic growth, social development with emphasis on climate which is believed to be heavily dependent on the kind of investment that targets resilient infrastructure, inclusive and sustainable industrialization and fostered innovation. The writers provide a model to explain the relationship among corruption, infrastructure deficit and social challenges. Also the writers establish key social challenges that are as a result of infrastructure deficit, especially housing deficit in developing countries. Finally, the writers establish in the book, the key actions needed to bridge the infrastructure gap in developing countries.

Francis est consultant en gestion des risques liés aux infrastructures critiques. Il est titulaire d'un doctorat en gestion stratégique et leadership avec une spécialisation en gestion des risques liés aux infrastructures critiques. Il travaille comme chef de la logistique au Centre de formation au maintien de la paix Kofi Annan, à Accra, et comme maître de conférences à l'AiT, à Accra, au Ghana.
