A Critical Study of Approaches to Syllabus Designing

To date, several books and research articles have focused on the issue of syllabus design and curriculum development. This book aims to provide a critical review on the different approaches to syllabus designing. This is intended to offer a descriptive and critical interpretation of the different syllabi in the domain of language teaching and learning. It covers the major approaches from a historical perspective and discusses their features precisely. The focus is on the Notional Approach to syllabus designing, its distinctive features, and semantico-grammatical categories, and a critique on its merits and different works on the Notional Syllabus.

Nahdiya Khan ha cursado un máster en enseñanza de la lengua inglesa (ELT) en la Universidad Musulmana de Aligarh. Ha obtenido la medalla de oro por ser la mejor en el mismo. Nahdiya ha sido la editora de la revista de su universidad durante la licenciatura. También ha trabajado como profesora de inglés en el Instituto AMS.
