According to WHO, 82% of blind people are over the age of 50 years and about 90% of the world s visually impaired people live in developing countries. Efforts to prevent visual impairment, in line with the WHO s has started to enter the political and public limelight across the world. In 2004, World Health Organization discussed the growing incidence of age related cataract and pointed out that visual health and its preservation should get special attention and recent publication shave depicted new a demographic pattern of visual impairment and identified possible interventions to combat this sight threatening condition.Back in 1990, the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), NGOs, professional associations, eye care institution & corporations) jointly launched a global initiative for the elimination of avoidable blindness by the year 2020. The goal of vision 2020 is to find out and eliminate the main causes of avoidable blindness and to prevent 100 million people from becoming blind

I have successfully completed PhD from HokkaidoUniversity, Japan. I have worked as an Assistant Prof.and Head, Department of Orthodontics, BangladeshDental College and also worked at Dental officenamed Sapporo Dental Square for 3 years. Now I amworking as Senior lecturer, Orthodontic unit, Schoolof Dental Science, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
