A treatise on disciplinary law for Congolese police officers in the DRC PART I

The Congolese national police force is a hierarchical and disciplined body. A police officer's career depends on rigorous training at a police academy or school, enabling him or her to act with professionalism and respect for the Constitution, etc.The special status of Congolese police officers justifies the emergence of disciplinary law within this service. Even if the subject - disciplinary law - appears to be a novelty in Congolese law, insofar as it analyses the Congolese National Police (PNC), a seasoned lawyer knows that disciplinary law is not a special subject. It is an area of administrative law dealing with all the sanctions that apply to members of a given body. In the legal relationship between the police officer and the hierarchy, disciplinary law becomes a special and relatively state administrative law in which the hierarchical authority has the power to impose sanctions on subordinates alleged to have committed misconduct.
