Adolescents'' Perceptions About Ways They Develop Autonomy
Details
Autonomy is a basic and universal human need to develop a sense of self. Autonomy is developed in various ways and is crucial for optimal learning. Adolescents may differ in their views about factors that influence their autonomy. Similarities and differences also exist among ethnic groups. Essentially, adolescents do have a right to express their views and beliefs about how they develop autonomy. Even though parents play an important role in teaching autonomy development, providing opportunities for adolescents to express their own views and opinions is equally important. This book was written to shed light on adolescents' own beliefs about factors influencing their autonomy development.
