This book contains theoretical and empirical research articles. In this book, the author expressed the relevance of Adult and Non-Formal Education in solving the problems of illiteracy. He also highlighted the need for a better attention to bridging the gap created by the deficiencies of formal education system.Equally of interest, is that teachers should be encouraged through adequate motivation as that the teaching and learning environment in the classroom would be affected. The need for a second chance education is very essential. There are various reasons why individuals engage in second chance education- social and political reason, acquisition of basic skills and changes taking place all over the world. Individuals must continually upgrade and update one's knowledge if one wants to be relevant in the society.

Orobator Fred Osakue holds a M.Ed in Adult and Non-formal Education from University of Benin, Benin City, a B.Ed from the same university, and Nigerian Certificate in Education (N.C.E) from the College of Education Ekiadolor, Benin. He has been teaching in the College Of Education, Ekiadolor for nearly fifteen years.
