AESTHETIC CROWNS IN PAEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

With the growing awareness of the aesthetic options available, there is a greater demand for solutions to problems such as malformed and discolored teeth, hypoplastic defects, tooth fractures and bruxism in children. Diseased anterior teeth hamper the function as well the psychological development of child. So, in the present era of aesthetic dentistry, the restoration of primary anterior teeth becomes necessary not only because they are to provide function but also to maintain the aesthetically pleasing smile of a young child. Pediatric crown development has moved from conventional unaesthetic stainless steel crown to strip crown and pre veneered crown with better clinical success and patient and parent satisfaction. The search for ideal crown in Paediatric dentistry still continues. The present book aims to provide information about conventional and newer pediatric anterior and posterior crowns.
