Aliovalent Doping of BiFeO3 Multiferroic Nanoparticles
Details
One of the very promising approaches of material synthesis is to combine in one material, different physical properties to achieve rich functionality. Multiferroics are such materials in which two or more of the primary ferroic properties are united in the same phase. The motivation for the study of multiferroics is mainly due to their potential applications that include multiple state memory elements in which data is stored both in the electric and magnetic polarizations. Also nanoparticles have received special attention due to their distinguished properties from their bulk counterpart. In nanoscale regime the temperature at which the multiferroic phase forms become lower and many of their properties such as thermal, optical, electric and magnetic get enhanced. This book is the compilation of my doctoral thesis in which I applied this idea on a green multiferroic BiFeO3 and also doped it chemically to get enhanced functionalities for its possible applications in memory devices.
