An Analytical Approach Towards Securitization Process
Details
The book is illustrating the probable impacts of the securitization process and the changing security role of nation states in the area of border security. Turkey, as a nation state, has also experienced the impact of the European Union securitization process. In order to analyze the impacts of the securitization, a case study approach has been adopted. Findings obtained from the present research prove that the securitization process has had a significant impact on the evolution of the border security framework of Turkey, Having considered the evolution of the process in the Areas of Freedom, Security and Justice, the emergence of the new security agenda in the EU, and Turkey s accession to the EU, the author argues that border security and borders will continue to play a crucial role in contemporary world policy and politics reflecting a situation similar to that of the Westphalian period.
