Analyzing Vinnie Colaiuta

The general objective of this writing consists of describing the rhythmic displacement in the work 'I'm Tweeked' of the album 'karizma', recorded in 1994, by Vinnie Colaiuta. This musical work stands out for the artistic ability in the practice of the 'Groove` and the discernment in the production of the sound, the balance of the volume, the cleanliness and precision in the execution of the technique of the rhythmic displacement; mastery that consolidates the fundamental aspects of a professional drummer and awakens interest in musicians and drummers, due to the complexity of its interpretation. This essay starts from the following question: How to solve the technical problems related to rhythmic displacement in a way that can help in the instrumental training of drummers in training? Therefore, the aim is to describe the difficulties of the rhythmic displacement technique in the piece I'm Tweeked, in order to offer a material that helps in the training of drummers, achieving to apply the fundamental concepts of accompaniment in a musical work: Groove, cleanliness, language and ensemble coupling.
