This industry plays a vital role in meeting the increasing global demand for seafood while alleviating pressure on wild fish stocks. Various methods, including fish farming, shrimp cultivation, and shellfish farming, are employed to rear and harvest aquatic species. Aquaculture contributes significantly to the economy, providing food security, employment opportunities, and export revenue. While promoting sustainability through practices like Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA), it faces challenges such as disease control and environmental impact.
