The book is the first attempt to study privacy
regulation in multi-cultural environments
syntactically, visually and metrically that shed
more light on privacy regulation.
Moreover, it draws attention to the relationship
between culture and space, and the potential
of space for fostering the culture of distinct
communities. The challenge for architects and urban
designers is to facilitate the best spatial
conditions for it.

The structure of the book can be understood as
consisting of three parts (9 chapters).
Part one (4 chapters): includes literature about
privacy definition, functions, regulating
mechanisms, framework within the context of culture
,the interface between private and public
spaces.

Second part (2 chapters): introduces theory of space
syntax and Isovist field, the case study, field
survey and observations, the inhabitants lifestyle,
and show how they label spaces by function, gender
and user identity.

Part three (3 chapters): analyses syntactically,
and visually the spatial structures for
the whole city ,and for the nine selected ethnic
communities as embedded within the city and in
isolation, conclusions.

He is Asst. Prof. of urban design and head of arch. & UP. Dept., Garyounis Univ., Libya. Member of of (UPO)., Ph.D., UD, (METU), 2004, M.Sc., B.Sc ,UP, Garyounis., 1993,1989,. Honored with Best Ph.D. thesis at METU, 2004. & in all his degrees. his Interest: Space Syntax and Semiotics of urban forms.
