AVAILABILITY AND USE OF MEDIA RESOURCES IN TEACHING

Teaching Geography in Kenyan secondary schools has many challenges; one of them being unavailability of teaching and learning resources. In a research conducted in Kenyan secondary schools, the author establishes that there are few Geography rooms in schools and that teachers experience problems in producing, using and storing instructional material. The study also identifies reasons for unavailability of Geography rooms and makes suggestions on how they may be developed by teachers of Geography. She recommends that Geography rooms be established in schools to promote the use of modern technologies in the classroom. According to the author, this makes learning and teaching Geography interesting and resource-based. This book is a must-read for secondary school Geography teachers and teacher trainers in teacher training institutions and universities.
