Biochemical and electrophoresis variation in different Swertia species in Garhwal Himalaya has been carried out for the present study. Biochemical parameters such as a soluble protein,free amino acid, soluble sugar, and starch have been analyzed. Protein profile as well isoenzyme variation was also analyzed in all the selected four species of Swertia. Although the present study is of preliminary in nature, the finding obtained during present study certainly help in understanding the variation in Swertia Species in garhwal himalaya region.
