Chitosan shows notable bioactivity in biomedical fields, including wound healing promotion, immune system enhancement, and hemostatic, hypolipidemic and antimicrobial activity.Chitosan and derivatives have been explored in the development of nanomaterials, bio adhesives, and edible coatings for drug delivery and in medical devices.Fucoidan has also been extended to the fields of nanomedicine, drug delivery, and tissue engineering applications.The field of nanotechnology is one of the most active areas of research in modern material science.
