This book is an endeavor to know the possible impact of capital structure on the cost of capital in the Indian corporate sector. India is one of the emerging economies in the world in terms of foreign capital inflow. In order to make a mark in the global arena, India has to make huge investments in different sectors. Its corporate sector has to gear itself up for global competition. For this purpose, effective sourcing of funds is very crucial. Against this backdrop, the study of the determinants of capital structure of the Indian firms assumes significance. Further research of this kind should enlarge our understanding of corporate finance. Such an exercise can help the corporation in the design of capital structure in a judicious manner. It is modest attempt to compare the capital structure practices of Traditional and Modern Economy Industries in Indian context.

Dr Harvinder Singh Mand is working as faculty in Punjabi University College, Ghudda, Bathinda (INDIA) and has recently completed his PhD in the faculty of Business Studies P.U.Patiala. He has fifteen years of teaching experience and has published more than thirty papers in the field of corporate finance at national and international level.
