Changing land tenure patterns and agricultural development in Tivland
Details
This book titled, Changing land tenure patterns and agricultural development in Tivland is presented in a most practical and theoretical way. The main focus of the book is to examine the implications for agricultural development that may result from the changing land tenure patterns. The book has noted that as societies evolve, their systems of land tenure undergo various changes. Consequent on this position, the book has shown that landholding patterns in Tivland have been subjected to a number of changes due to a number of factors. The book has identified these drivers of change as population growth, commercial farming, conflict and migration, collapse of the customary management system, and urbanization. The book has posited that these factors are entrenching tenure insecurity and inequality. The book is of particular importance to students of higher learning, policy makers especially agricultural and rural development planners and land tenure scholars. It is also of great importance to academicians and development partners for both practical and theoretical reasons.
