The authors examined classroom interaction techniques and students' participation in Nigerian Secondary Schools using three techniques: Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories (FIAC),Teacher Initiation, Students' Response and Teacher Evaluation (IRE) and Teaching Cycles (T.C). Four research questions and hypotheses guided the study. The result obtained after data analysis showed that students' participation is not contingent on classroom interaction technique adopted. Teachers dominate instruction.Teachers should take extra steps to encourage students participation.
