Community-based learning practices in remote Philippine Barangays
Details
This book explores Community-Based Learning (CBL) as an alternative approach to education in remote Philippine barangays where formal schooling faces challenges such as limited resources, teacher shortages, and geographic isolation. By drawing on indigenous knowledge, local leadership, and community participation, CBL creates inclusive and culturally relevant learning opportunities. Findings show that teachers, parents, and barangay leaders collaborate to sustain education through innovative practices like multi-grade teaching, peer learning, and community literacy programs. The study concludes that CBL is a viable and scalable model to promote equitable access and quality education in underserved communities.
