Details

It is a protruded fact that peoples livelihoods & the availability of assets are seriously affected by critical trends, shocks as well as seasonality over which they have minimal or no control. The fact that they are denied of access of technologies that could fit their local condition like agricultural inputs, fertilizer, selected seeds, agriculture related credits, they are highly vulnerable to the influences of national & international economic crises. The manifestations of food shortages are the recurrent famine, the inability of HH to send their children to school, dropping of children out of school, the inability to buy adequate agricultural inputs & other required materials are seriously observed on HHs. Farmers don't produce enough food even in good rainfall years to meet thier needs. Given the fragile natural resource base & climatic uncertainty, institutional constraints & absence of proper linkages among different development attempts perpetuate the existing unviable livelihood system.
