Conflict in Translation: Online News Coverage of the Arab World

Western news media have focused for long on some events in the Arab world, especially in the wars and disputes. There is very little academic literature on the way the Arab news items are framed in the target articles. This book attempts a scrutiny and an evaluation of the online news coverage of the Arab World in Western online news institutions. It aims to identify the methods which are employed by the translators and their news institutions in rendering some religious and political references during the Iraq War in the light of Mona Baker's, Lawrence Venuti's, Javier Aixelá's strategies.This book can be useful to the translation scholars and news translators who are interested in the news coverage of the Arab World in Western media.It can also be useful to anyone else who may be interested in the relation between translation, media and politics.
