Consolidation of Soils: Rate of Settlement Approach
Details
In the field of Geotechnical Engineering this book is intended for researchers, academicians, consulting engineers, field and laboratory experts, book writers, teachers and post graduate students. The theoretical, experimental (laboratory and field) and practical problems of consolidation of clayey soils are not completely, satisfactorily and easily answered by the methods available in literature. Settlement versus Rate of Settlement Approach has a marked edge above all other methods. In spite of its introduction about 21 years back and continuous publications in most reputed international journals solving problem upon problem in easy, short and comparatively precise manner it has not yet gathered momentum and researchers in consolidation of clayey soils continue to use less efficient methods. Summarizing the past literature on this approach, this scholarly book on the state-of-the-art shows the easy solutions of the above mentioned problems and perplexities that were hitherto unsolved or difficult to be solved prior to the advent of settlement versus rate of settlement methods.
