In this Book Dr Lawal Mohammad Anka Present Four Decades of Rural Development experience in Nigeria.The various Rural Development programmes implemented by the government has been examined in details.Dynamics of Rural Transformation the experience of mass mobilization for economic recovery,self reliance and social justice (MAMSER), Green revolution,Conflict resolution strategies for farmers and pastoralist are some of the prominent chapters in this book.Over the years government initiative in rural development and empowerment of the poor have played a very good role in poverty alleviation.Accordingly Nigeria has adopted integrated rural development as an approach for improving the quality of life in rural areas.Howevever it is my conviction that there is a need of a text book that will give valuable insights and practicable lessons from new rural development programmes.This book is intended to be of that sort.

Dr Lawal Mohammad Anka is a Nigerian Scholar, Agricultural Economist, Chartered Manager, and Futurist. He attended Kaduna Polytechnic in Nigeria, Sindh Agricultural University Tandojam, University of Sindh Jamshoro Pakistan and Justus Liebig University Giessen Germany. He Holds BSc and MSc In Agricultural Economics, MBA and PhD Development Studies.
