Ecotourism and Social Research:
Details
Ecotourism has become a topic of great interest among researchers, policy makers and development practitioners. This is based on the observation that ecotourism can contribute to achieving sustainability of the wellbeing of rural communities, biodiversity conservation and contributes to conservation education. The book makes original contributions to the field of ecotourism through its tripartite study the historical, spatial and methodological and voice studies. The proposed Sankofa Postcolonial Methodology (SPMET), should be of interest to independent social researchers (and undergraduates and postgraduates) and NGOs working in the South and particularly Africa.
