Emotional Intelligence in Organizations
Details
How do people like Steve Jobs bounce back after every business crisis or personal disaster? What motivated historical figures to lead nations to prosperity after a destructive war? It turns out that they were not the mightiest or the bravest. Neither did they have four digit IQs. They were people with a very high emotional quotient. In true sense of the phrase, they were all weather managers. Change in working conditions or relations with peers did not make them panic. Even under immense pressure, they guided their teams with grace. In a group of people with similar IQ and enterprise, if anything determines why some people are more successful than others, it is because of Emotional Intelligence. This study has proved that Emotional Intelligence is positively correlated with self-efficacy, work motivation and stress coping behaviour. The study proves that emotional intelligence holds the keys to a successful career. Self-efficacy, work motivation and stress coping behaviour of non-executives of public Industries are significantly and positively related to their emotional intelligence.
