Euryale ferox and its medicinal value

The book Euryale ferox a threatened aquatic plant of Kashmir Himalaya and its medicinal value highlights the medicinal value vis a vis conservation of one of the important aquatic plant of Kashmir. The plant was traditionally used to treat stomach and kidney problems. The plant had shown significant antimicrobial and antioxidant activity which indicates its use in pharmaceutical industry for treating various ailments. The plant was found in 1990 s in almost all the valley lakes but is now found in only Manasbal lake of Kashmir Himalaya.
